Jammu to get 3 nursing colleges soon: Syed Farooq

JAMMU, Apr 24: The Auqaf Islamia Jammu will soon establish three nursing colleges in Jammu, Kishtwar and Rajouri districts.
This was informed by the Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today during his inspection of proposed building identified for establishing the Nursing College at Kote Bhalwal near Kanger Morh.
The Minister informed that soon a team of experts from Indian Nursing Council (INC) will inspect this proposed infrastructure for the Nursing College at Kot Bhalwal to assess and decide the feasibility of the building and location for early start of the classes. The team has already inspected the facilities for starting the session at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Campus at Rajouri.
The Minister said that these colleges would be run under Auqaf funding and are expected to be made functional within minimum possible time. He said that these Colleges will offer the course of B.Sc Nursing and would be constituent college of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri.
The Minister said that creation of Nursing Colleges in the State was the dream and commitment of late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and present Government will take all necessary steps to fulfill these in letter and spirit.
Registrar, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri, Itaat Hussain and Administrator, Auqaf Islamia, Jammu, Waseem Raja briefed the Minister that all necessary formalities have been completed for starting the session at Kote Bhalwal and only permission from the competent authority is awaited.
