DyCM reiterates commitment to empower Panchayats

JAMMU, Apr 24: Like other parts of country various functions were organised by the Governemnt departments, BJP and other organisations on Panchayat Day across Jammu region today.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh attended a function at Kakra Billawar in district Kathua in this connection.
Describing as historic the steps taken by the Prime Minister for ensuring development of villages and rural areas, Dr Nirmal Singh said that the initiatives taken would ensure that the people living there would get all the requisite and modern facilities bringing them at par with the urban areas within next few years.
Dr Singh reiterated the commitment to empower Panchayats in the State.
While spelling out the several initiatives being taken for holistic development of the villages and improving the lot of the people living there, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the recently announced Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna would ensure that the farmers get the requisite compensation in case of failure of the crops due to various reasons.
Speaking at the concluding function of 10 day Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan (village emergence and development to Bharat emergence and development) held at Suchetgarh block headquarter, the Minister of PHE, Irrigation and FC, Choudhary Sham said that “Government is committed for welfare and prosperity of the villages as a large chunk of total population of Jammu and Kashmir resides in rural and remote areas.”
Describing the ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ a historic campaign, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga said that the coordinated efforts of Government and people will surely strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions and would help in developing the rural areas.
The Minister was addressing the gathering during a function organized by the Rural Development Department to celebrate National Panchayati Raj Day at block Vijaypur.
District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda, SDM Vijaypur Rajnish Gupta, GM DIC Samba Krishan Lal, Chief Agricultural Officer Samba Kulbushan Sambyal and concerned officers were present on the occasion.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of Rural Development Department for making the ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign a success. He said that during the ten days of campaign, villagers especially women of rural areas actively participated in the Gram Sabhas and shared their views to strengthen the Panchayti Raj system.
Meanwhile “Gram Uday Se Bharat uday” campaign of BJP concluded on Panchayati Raj Divas today with party leaders addressing public in different Panchayats across the State to convey the message of Narendra Modi Government of its commitment for developing villages and empowering panchayats for a prosperous India.
BJP State President Sat Sharma, along with State general secretary Dr Narinder Singh, State secretary Vikram Randhawa, RS Pura MLA Dr Gagan Bhagat, MLC S Charanjit Singh Khalsa, district president Brijeshwar Rana, addressed public in Ban Sultan Panchayat. He said that Panchayats are important units of democracy and Prime Minister has launched a number of schemes for the development of villages. He said that an era of development has started in rural areas which will conclude into new Bharat.
State general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, alongwith Jammu district president Baldev Singh Billawaria, district  general secretary Vinay Gupta, reached Bhour Camp West Panchayat and addressed local public. He said that Gram Uday to Bharat Uday is dream of PM Modi.
Vice president Karan Singh addressed a gathering at Patoli Panchyat in Nagbani area today.
Speaker State Assembly and MLA Kavinder  Gupta, along with Sarpanch Vijay Sharma, addressed public at Rakh Gadi Garh and said that various schemes launched for villages are aimed at  overall development of villages having good roads connected to highways, clean drinking water, better health facilities and empowering Panchayats.
MLC and former State President Ashok Khajuria, alongwith Ex MLA Ashwani Sharma, addressed public in Khairi Panchayat of Bishnah. He said that the PM Fasal Bima Yojna is a gift to the farmers by Narendra Modi.
State general secretary Pawan Khajuria, alongwith district president Rakesh Gupta, addressed public at Rathial and Tikri Panchayats and Udhampur town.
MLC Vibodh Gupta, along with BJP Sharnarthi Cell Convenor Pt Ashok Khajuria addressed public gathering at Bhour Camp East Panchayat.
Senior BJP leader and Member Legislative Council, Ajatshatru Singh stressed on the need to strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions for the overall growth of the country. He was speaking in a function organized in connection with Gram Uday to Bharat Uday proceedings and to celebrate Panchayati Raj Day at Mathwar Block office here today.
The programme organized by the BDO Office Mathwar was attended by a large number of villagers of Panchayat Sarote and adjoining areas.
A special Gram Sabha was held in Gram Panchayat of village Koulpur block Ramgarh, district Samba today which was inaugurated by Jasbir Singh Sarpanch Koulpur.
Speaking on the occasion of National Panchayat Divas, he stressed upon “Beti Padao -Beti Bachao” and empowerment of women and other social schemes which will lead to fulfill the vision  i.e. “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday” as mentioned by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi as every Panchayat is basic unit of India. He said Director General, ISM, Dr Abdul Kabir Dar has given directions to all medical officers to take active part in special Gram Sabha.
Addressing the function, Dr Anil Sharma, Medical Officer, Koulpur highlighted the National Ayush Mission scheme and also stressed on the adoption of traditional preventive measures as mentioned under Swasthvritta in Ayurveda.
