Govt urged to release salary of teachers under NPS

UDHAMPUR, Jan 5: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), Udhampur wing, was held here today under the chairmanship of general secretary Rakesh Singh for highlighting the grievances and demands of the community.
While addressing the meeting Rakesh Singh lamented that the teachers appointed under NPS system, have not received their monthly salary from the last eight months, due to which their families were facing acute financial crisis and some of them are virtually at the verge of starvation.
He urged the Government to evolve some mechanism for streamlining the salary of, NPS Teachers by bringing their salary under non-plan head.
The meet also highlighted some other demands, which included formulation of academic calendar for School Education Department, promotion of Teachers and Masters on performance basis, early adjustment of Master promoted in February 2014, filling up of vacant posts, etc.
Others,  who spoke in the meeting, included Vivek Gupta, Sohan Lal, Pardeep Gupta, Ajit Gupta, Kusum Lata, Subash Chander, Sandeep Gupta, Vikram Gupta and Om Sat.
