JAMMU, Jan 5: Displaced Kashmiri Sikhs have urged upon the Government to provide package and reservation to the Sikh community in four Assemblies in the State.
Addressing a  press conference here today, president of Displaced Kashmir Sikh Conference,  Harmohinder Singh demanded reservation in four Assembly constituencies for Sikh community in J & K State.  He said two should be in Jammu province  and  two in Kashmir,  which are highly dominated by the Sikh community.

He said that  there are 58 MLAs from Muslim community, 27 MLAs from Hindu community  and 2 among Buddhists but Sikhs being at number three in respect of population,  don’t have an elected MLA.
Sikh leader exhorted upon the  Sikh community members to rise to the occasion  irrespective of their party affiliations or regional interests and get constitutional guarantee for reservation of 4 Assembly constituencies.
