Govt gives vague reply in Assembly

JAMMU, Jan 9: Government today gave vague reply in the Legislative Assembly regarding finalization of Jammu Master Plan-2032, which otherwise is imperative to check haphazard growth in the winter capital city and its outskirts.
EXCELSIOR in its report on January 7, 2017 had exclusively highlighted that finalization of Jammu Master Plan is being handled with non-seriousness by the Housing and Urban Development Department despite the fact that exercise in this regard was initiated in early 2015.
This was substantiated by none else than the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who is also Minister Incharge Housing and Urban Development Department on the floor of Legislative Assembly in reply to the question of BJP MLA from Jammu West Sat Pal Sharma.
“The Draft Master Plan-2032 was placed in public domain and the objections/suggestions were placed before the Board of Enquiry constituted by the Government”, he said, adding “the Draft Master Plan is presently under consideration”. The Minister Incharge Housing, however, failed to specify any time-frame for giving final shape to this vision document which will ensure planned and organized development in the winter capital.
