Govt committed to development of border villages: Sadhotra

JAMMU, June 23: Omar Abdullah led Coalition Government is committed to overall development of boder villages in the State, said Ajay Sadhotra, senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Council while addressing public meetings at Gajansoo and Sohagni border Panchayats of block Marh, here today.
While praising the people of border villages for their braveness and commitment, Sadhotra said that the people of these areas have always faced the wrath from across the border and it was imperative to uplift their living standard, adding that border villages were second defence line after Army and Para Military Forces.
Urging the Government to recast the Border Area Development Plan and ensure the development of the border villages, NC leader said that these villages need more attention than the other villages as the border people confront with many problems.
Expressing concern over the unemployment among the border youth, Sadhotra urged the Government to launch a special employment drive in border villages for State and Central Government Departments.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Sarpanchs Bhushan Sharma, Keemat Lal, Mohinder Singh and Piar Singh, besides Ghasita Ram and Prem Saini.
