SRINAGAR, May 29: Scores of casual labourers of Floriculture Department protested against Government for its failure to regularize their services.
“Casual labourers are working in the department for over a decade. It is ironical that we are treated badly. Whenever there is shortage of funds in the department, only casual labourers had to face the heat. We don’t have other sources of income,” the protesters said.
The daily wagers also demanded that their salaries should be released timely. “We also demand that there should be leave facility, CP fund and other benefits for us,” they said.
