JAMMU, May 29: Team effort helped Lions Cricket Club (LCC) to register a convincing win over Star Cricket Club in the 2nd Kartar Singh Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament which got underway at High School Simbal Camp, here.
Earlier, batting first, Star Club scored a modest total of 121 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Lucky top scored with 28 runs, while Pintu contributed 19 runs to the total. Parvinder, Jash and Harjinder chipped in with 14, 13 and 12 runs respectively. For Lions Club, Love Dish bagged 3 wickets, while Vishal took 2 and Paaji claimed one,
In reply, LCC scored the required runs in 15.2 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Vishal played a brilliant innings of 34 runs off just 23 balls, while Hardeep and Prithy contributed 18 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For Star Club, Parvinder bagged 3 wickets, while Prince claimed one. Vishal was adjudged man of the match for his quick-fire knock.
The match was officiated by Kulbir Singh (PEM) and Harcharan as umpires, while Ginni was the scorer.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of GS Michael, organizing secretary.
