Five injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, May 14: Police today said five persons were injured in different road accidents in Valley.
A police spokesman said a Maruti car bearing registration number JK01C-2994 hit a minor girl namely Muntaha at Vilgam in north Kashmir’s Handwara area of Kupwara district. “The injured was shifted to Vilgam Hospital for treatment. Police had registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The spokesman said a Sumo bearing registration number JK04A-2569 hit a pedestrian namely Abdul Rashid Khan at Gundipora in Beerwah area of Budgam district. “The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard,” he said.
A motorcycle driven by Ishtiyaq Ahmad Wani hit a pedestrian at Khomine Baharabad in Hajin area of Bandipora district, resulting in injuries to the pedestrian and the motorcyclist. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment, he said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
The police spokesman said an unknown vehicle hit a lady namely Fatima at Shilwat village of Sumbal in Bandipora disrict. “The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman added.
