Drug peddler arrested with heroin

JAMMU, June 6: Sarwal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered 10 grams heroin valuing Rs 1 lakh from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Sarwal Police Post laid a naka at Rehari Chowk and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 10 grams heroin and one electronic weighing machine from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Gharu Ram, a resident of Dharamani, Tehsil Rankote, District Kathua.
A case under FIR Number 76/18 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sarwal Police Post SI Jatinder Singh Rakwal made the arrest under the guidance of SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma, SDPO West Pranav Mahajan, Incharge SP City Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
