JAMMU, June 6: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president, K. K. Khosa, has taken strong notice of the dismantling of Dharamshalla rooms situated at Trehgam, Nagbal, district Kupwara by Government agencies.
The Sabha, while taking the strong exception to dismantling of Dharamshalla said no one from the community has been taken into confidence before indulging in this illegal and highly deplorable act which has hurt the sentiments of the exiled community.
It is a matter of grave concern that the administration is indulging in such acts.
On the one hand the State Government has been repeatedly trumpeting that it is working sincerely for the return and rehabilitation of the community back in the Valley but such acts negate these assertions thereby damaging its creditability.
Kashmiri Pandit Sabha appealed to the Chief Minister to kindly take cognizance of this sad episode and institute an enquiry at once. It is also appealed that further activity in this regard should be put on hold forthwith so that the public property is saved from irreversible damage. The Sabha also requested that the guilty should be brought to book so that it sets an example for others to dissuade from tinkering with forlorn and unattended public property belonging to the community.
