JAMMU, Feb 18: A delegation of border people in Jammu called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi today and apprised him of the prevailing situation arising due to indiscriminate firing by Pakistan.
The delegation, led by social activist Baba Chanchal Singh, highlighted the problems being faced by the border people due to hostile activities of the Pakistani troops and stressed that the enemy country should be taught a lesson once for all.
Besides seeking necessary measures for safety of the lives and property of the border inhabitants, the deputation also demanded adequate compensation to the victims of Pakistan firing.
Rajnath Singh appreciated the courage and bravery of border inhabitants and assured that a befitting reply was being given to Pakistan by the Indian Army and Border Security Force.  He further said that all efforts were being made to ensure minimum loss to the border inhabitants and construction of bunkers near the LoC as well as IB was a step forward in this regard.
