SRINAGAR, Dec 11: A police man, who was injured in an accidental fire last week in police station Kulgam, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura in Srinagar.
Police said Fayaz Ahmad Ganai (Belt no. 543) son of Mohammad Abdullah Ganai, resident of Laribal Tral and his colleague Zaheer Abbas ( Belt no.840) suffered bullet injuries after a service rifle of a cop went off accidentally in Police Station Kulgam on December 4.
Both the injured policemen were hospitalized, the officer said, adding today constable Fayaz Ahmad Ganai succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura. He added that the condition of another cop is said to be stable.
To pay homage to constable Fayaz Ahmad, a wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines Awantipora today. SSP Awantipora Mohammad Zahid led the police officers and jawans in laying floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the cop.
