Ansari, Gupta launch online service for PSC, SSB, BOPEE

SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Minister for IT, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today inaugurated an Andriod moblie application under National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM), at a function organized by Department of Information Technology, in collaboration with MBD group, here at SKICC.
Minister of State for IT and Finance, Pawan Kumar Gupta was Guest of Honour on the occasion.
The Ministers, also launched online service for Public Service Commission (PSC), Service Selection Board (SSB) and Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) through Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), commonly known as Common Services Centers (CSCs) or Khidmat Centers.
The Ministers also released a handbook of NDLM in Urdu and distributed I-Pads among VLEs.
Speaking on the occasion, Molvi Ansari said that these services would help people, especially educated youth to communicate with institutions viz PSC, SSB and BOPEE. He said Government is making concerted efforts to extend various services to the people across the State through such CSCs and other units of IT Department.
The Minister said that in the first phase, 56 such services will be launched under e-District through ‘Apna CSC portal’. He further said that efforts are also on to extend services like Child Enrollment and Election Services. “We have already received approval from PHE Department for collection of water bills through CSCs and in shortly we will also receive approval for collection of PDD bills through CSCs”, said the Minister.
The Minister said under e-governance plan CSCs are conceptualized as ICT enabled, front-end service delivery points for delivery of government, social and private sector services in areas viz agriculture, health, education, entertainment, FMCG products, banking, financial services, utility payments etc.
Pawan Gupta while giving a background on Digital India Programme, said that it is a flagship programme of the Union Government to make India a digitally literate country. He stressed for improving digital literacy programme across the State, in order to facilitate people at ground level.
Commissioner Secretary Information technology, Technical Education, Youth Service and Sports, Hirdesh Kumar, Secretary to PHE, P A Malik, Director NIELIT, A.H Moon, Chief Operation officer CSC, Korath Mathew and Praveen Singh of MBD group besides Director General YSS, Jahangir Mir and Secretary SSB, S.A Raina and other officers of IT Department and a large number of VLEs of the valley were also present on the occasion.
