ANDRITZ HYDRO opens regional office in Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 15: ANDRITZ HYDRO Private Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Austrian Technology Group ANDRITZ has furthered its presence in the Indian market by setting up a new regional office in Jammu.
The new office was inaugurated in the presence of Lal Singh, Minister of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Navin K Choudhary, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Finance and RN Sahay, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu and Kashmir. The company’s management board, Josef M Ullmer, MD and CEO, Mahadevan Anand, MD & CMO and other senior dignitaries were present during the inaugural function.
ANDRITZ HYDRO has a leading position in the hydropower sector. With its two state-of-the-art manufacturing factories in Prithlaand Mandideep, the company has set-up a consolidated position in the hydropower sector and has already commissioned important hydroelectric projects in India including Karcham Wangtoo (1,000 MW) and Teesta III (1,200 MW).
Josef M Ullmer mentioned, “This is another major milestone in the history of ANDRITZ HYDRO. ANDRITZ is strongly committed to contribute its best to the growth story of Jammu and Kashmir. J&K has vast hydropower potential of which a major portion is yet to be harnessed. Our association with J&K dates back to over a decade when we supplied equipment to the state’s Baglihar I and II hydroelectric projects”.
“With our new office in Jammu, we aim to further strengthen our position as one of the largest and most comprehensive companies providing from water-to-wire solutions for hydropower generation”, he said, adding that with this step, we hope to consolidate our proximity to our esteemed clients in the region and also support the development of the Jammu and Kashmir.
