Punjab residents arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Dec 15: Bahu Fort police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers hailing from Punjab and recovered 130 grams heroin worth several lakhs from their possession.
According to Superinte-ndent of Police (SP) South Jammu Sandeep Choudhary, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station arrested two drug peddlers from Yard Number 7 Narwal along with 130 grams heroin worth several lakhs.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sudesh Kumar alias Shesha, son of Puran Chand and Ashok Kumar alias Sonu, son of Joginder Paul, both residents of District Jallandhar, Punjab, SP added.
A case under FIR Number 292/17 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started.
The entire operation was led by SDPO East Arun Jamwal and assisted by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Parvez Sajjad and Incharge Narwal Police Post SI Vikram Manhas.
SP added that the arrested persons used to allegedly procure drugs from Punjab and supply the same in Jammu. Further investigation is being conducted to pinpoint their contact persons in Jammu through whom they used to get the drugs peddled to youth in Jammu. He termed this catch as an important milestone.
