JAMMU, Dec 8: The valedictory function of the three day International Conference on Health Psychology was held in University of Jammu, here this afternoon.
Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He spoke of the importance of a healthy psychology in the nation building .He quoted various sources, noted intellectual like APJ Abdul Kalam Azad ,vedic scriptures, saints like Kabir and Lal Ded who all emphasised on harmony within an individual as the first and foremost vital step to the harmony and peace in the world.
Prof Anand Kumar, president IAHP addressed the gathering and expressed his appreciation of the organising committee that executed such a major event successfully and with a panache. Prof Rakesh Pandey, secretary general IAHP, echoed the same views.
Prof Arti Bakhshi, Head, Deptt of Psychology and Director ICIAHP-2015 presented the detailed report of the proceedings of the three days of the conference. She informed the gathering that in the three day conference 430 registered delegates had participated and presented research papers in 20 sessions spread two days of the deliberations. Senior professors from India and abroad chaired all the technical sessions during the conference .Valuable contributions were made by the doctors from GMC, Dr Thappa and Dr. Manu from the Department of Psychiatry and Dr Sushil Sharma from cardiology in particular.
Dr Sarika Sood ,co-organising secretary announced the recipients of the best paper awards who were felicitated by the chief guest.
Dr.C S Chandra ,organising secretary presented the vote of thanks.
