NC MLA leads protest over series of demands

Srinagar, Dec 8: Opposition National Conference (NC) legislator and former Assembly Speaker, Mubarak Gul today staged a protest here in favour of series of demands.
Gul, who is Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Eidgah, gathered in Press Enclave here along with the members of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Society, a non-governmental organization, and raised slogans against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led coalition over the rampant use of pepper gas against protesters on every Friday in downtown city.
“Due to frequent use of pepper gas, people of downtown in general and elders in particular are facing from severe respiratory problems. The Government should immediately end the use of peppers,” Gul said. He condemned the alleged blasphemous remarks of Hindu Mahasabha working president Kamlesh Tiwari and termed it a ploy to harm communal harmony in the country.
The NC legislator on the occasion demanded IIT and IIM in Kashmir Valley. “We are not against the establishment of IIM and IIT in Jammu. But we want the same should be done in Kashmir Valley as well,” the senior NC leader said.
