20-day children summer workshop inaugurated

JAMMU, June 4: Twenty-day children summer workshop organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) was inaugurated today by Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Academy at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
In his inaugural address, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that since long time this summer workshop is a regular activity and attained much attraction and publicity resulting into maximum participation.
He disclosed that this season, about 150 children are participating in painting, 80 in dance and 35 children are participating in theater workshop. He said the workshop will provides the children relief from the pressure of academic knowledge, besides providing a platform to showcase their skills in various fields. “Moreover, the workshop which will create an atmosphere to boost talent and overall development of the children”, he added.
Dr Amn said that Akash Dogra (professionally trained dancer), Amarjit Singh and Shashi Bala (both professionally trained painting instructors) with the assistance of Bhupinder Singh Jamwal (chorographer), Anil Tickoo (ACO) and Bishan Dass (ACO in official capacity), who are also experienced music composer, theatre directors and renowned artists will train the children in their areas of interest.
