Modi Govt fails to ensure safety of border people: Tara Chand

JAMMU, June 4:  Strongly condemning  Pakistan for targeting civilians,  senior Congress leader and former Dy Chief Minister,  Tara Chand today visited  Pargwal  border sector in Khour  and took stock of  the problems of  the firing affected people.
He lashed out at the Modi Govt and strongly condemned Pakistan for targeting civilian population deep inside, which is violation of international norms and said that Modi led BJP Govt  has proved to be worst failure to ensure safety and security of border residents in the State.
He also criticised  BJP-PDP Govt  for its unsympathetic and insensitive attitude towards border are people, as none of  the ministers visited the area which has become the worst target of Pakistan shelling and the villagers are in fear because they have no proper communication or arrangement for shifting to safer places. He regretted  that this treatment of Govt  is highly irresponsible and unfortunate towards border residents.
Tara Chand, who was first leader to visit the area to enquire about the injured said that there is lot of panic and anger amongst people over the failure of Govt  to control Pakistan from resorting to shelling time and again, as a result the border residents are between the devil and deep sea.
Senior Congress leader strongly criticized Modi Govt  for its utter failure to deal with Pakistan during four years of its regime and said that Pakistan has caused huge loss in terms of human lives and property. He said  that the number of causalities and record number of ceasefire violations,  are the highest during Modi regime as compare to last 70 years in any peace time.  This shows the worst failure of Modi Govt towards Pak as neither he could translate his words of 56″  Chest to teach Pakistan a lesson, nor restore peace despite unscheduled visit to Lahore.
Prime Minister Modi owes an explanation to the nation especially the border residents on this front , he said adding that since independence the people of border area have been suffering.  He said that the demand of the border area people for 5 marlas plots at safer place is a quite genuine. This Govt  has  promised the same but nothing has been done in this regard.  He also demanded that Govt should provide  monetary help of  Rs 10 lakh to each family for construction of  shelters. He  demanded Rs  20 lakh  to each civilian casualty and Rs 5 lakh to each injured in the firing besides the adequate relief for the loss of crops and cattle in  the firing . He also demanded RBA status to the people  residing within the radius of 5 Kms of  border.
PCC Members Hari Singh Chib and  Suram Singh, BCC president Pargwal Daljit Singh and DCC Jammu Member, Ram Saroop also accompanied.
