JAMMU, Nov 29: A 25-year-old bike-borne youth was killed late last night in a hit and run case at Purkhoo area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the youth identified as Anil Kumar (25) son of Bishan Lal, a resident of Sunderbani, was on his way to Jammu from Akhnoor when an unidentified oil tanker coming from opposite side, hit and left him seriously injured.
In unconscious condition, the blood ridden youth was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead. Today, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Kanachak and further investigations are underway.
