MENDHAR, Apr 25: A 20-year-old youth was arrested for a rape bid on a 10 –year-old girl at village Niaka Majari in Mendhar area this morning.
A police spokesman said that the girl had gone to bring milk from a nearby house in the village while she was returning one Mohd Altaf, son of Mohd Aslam of the same village caught hold of her at an isolated places near fields and made rape attempt. The girl raised alarm and the nearby people rushed for the help and the youth escaped. The milk pot also fell down.
The parents lodged an FIR No. 20/ 2013 against the accused and arrested him.
