Youth empowerment, peace, harmony our main agenda: Yashpal

SAMBA,  Dec 5: MLC Yashpal Sharma today inaugurated community Kitchen shed for benefit of the devotees at Baba Chamliyal Shrine in Ramgarh Sector of district Samba.
He granted Rs 5 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the this purpose. He also announced Rs 7 lakh for the construction of community kitchen shed.  Every year, devotees from both sides converge at the border, near the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine, to pay obeisance to Baba Chamliyal.
While addressing the gathering on this occasion he underlined the importance of the shrine and appealed to the people to take inspiration from the life of Baba Chamliyal which aims at promoting convergence rather than divergence in human relations. He maintained that pen is always mightier than the sword and it was the grand vision of former Chief Minister, Late Mufti Mohammed Syed to endorse dialogue and reconciliation as a concomitant step for overall peace in the region.
“We must take a cue from the lives of great saints and statesman to live a peaceful life and shun all kinds of violence which now a days has enslaved the psyche of youths in the Valley.  He assured the people that the present dispensation under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti is ready to go the extra mile in order to promote the humanistic values of Saints and develop such shrines of the like nature across the State as the Centre of harmony and peace.  The Government is also committed to consider ways to increase inclusive representation of youth in decision-making at all levels and to offer new opportunities to the young people, he added.
A similar kind of gathering was also addressed by MLC Yashpal Sharma in Panchayat Chak Salaria where he inaugurated lanes and drains constructed to the tune of Rs 3 lakhs out of his CDF.
Responding to the demands of the local people he announced Rs 7 lakh for more lanes and drains in the area and appealed them that they must ensure their larger participation in the upcoming Panchayats elections in building resurgent rural areas.
Others who spoke on the occasion includes Vijay Kumar Bawa (Ex-Sarpanch), Rattan Chowdhary (Chairman, Baba Chamliyal Shrine),  S. Santokh Singh, Mohan Singh, Tirath Ram and Om Parkash (Ex- Sarpanch).
