YAIKS warns Govt of coercing employees to join duties in Valley

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Aug 18: The Youth all India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) during a day long convention here, today while deliberating over the prevailing grave and alarming proxy war in Kashmir Valley said the safety and security of PM package employees is under jeopardy under the prevailing situation there.
During the seminar the threadbare discussions were also held on the notification issued by the Government through which the employees have been given two weeks ultimatum to join their respective duties in Valley despite the prevailing unrest there especially in South Kashmir.
The employees warned the Government that they should not be compelled to join their duties in Valley in view of prevailing circumstances there. They said that after last year’s turmoil they were forced to leave the Valley under threat perception as the Haal Pulwama episode still haunts them. Later they got the admission of their wards in Jammu schools and under prevailing circumstances they can’t admit their kids in Valley schools also. Moreover it will not be possible for them to break the half session of their wards and rush back to Valley.
Addressing the samelan R K Bhat president YAIKS said successive Governments have totally failed to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of 2000 package employees posted in Valley and their loud claims about return of entire community are totally hollow. Instead of giving proper healing touch the employees are being harassed by the administration by issuing show cause notices, delay in release of salaries, deduction of HRA though it was earlier promised that the employees will be provided the same as an incentive for settlement and return. Besides they are given ultimatums unnecessarily, he added.
YAIKS leaders B K Bhat, Sunil Koul, Manoj Handoo, Sanjay Ganjoo, Rakesh Fotedar, Rohit, Rakesh Bachloo, Vimal Ji, Kamla Ji D N Bhat and others addressed the samelan.
