JAMMU, Mar 21: Accusing the successive Governments at the Centre and in the State as well for exploiting the exiled Pandits and ignoring their plight, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) resolved to fight for restoration of community’s lost identity.
“Fresh struggle needs to be launched to connect our future generation with their lost roots, involving civil society of all the three regions of the State through public interlocutors for this purpose”, YAIKS president, R K Bhat told reporters here, today.
He said the present mode of struggle will be revised to evolve a fresh road map through community icons. Process has already been started and a blue print will be made public soon, he added.
Bhat said this was decided in Core Group of the organization, comprising of B. K. Bhat, Sunil Koul, Manoj Handoo, Ajay Safaya, Sanjay Ganjoo, Ravinder Sharma, D. N. Bhat, Pushkar Nath and Mohan Lal Pandita. The meeting was presided over by him. “We will also start a direct dialogue with all the stake holders of JK by organizing seminars, workshops and get-to-gethers and meet to the civil society members of all the three regions of the State”, he added.
Bhat said “the time has come when we should go in the court of people of the State for our fundamental rights, as successive Governments have miserably failed to restore our lost identity and Motherland”. The so called PM’s return and rehabilitation package put more salt on our wounds instead of healing them, he added.
He said under this scheme Government could not even rehabilitate just 3000 employees who are working in Kashmir Valley and loud claims about the return of entire community seems a mockery. All Valley Posted Migrant Employees (VPME) are badly suffering because of this rehabilitation package, he added.
“We have no political participation, empowerment and representation at any governance level. We are being asked to caste our votes for Kashmir constituencies despite by knowing that we are out of our constituencies and districts for last 28 years”, he added.
Bhat said YAIKS being an organization of youth power who are connected to ground and spearheading a movement in solving the burning and survival issues of youth to a great extent will not take rest till it takes community struggle to its logical conclusion. He appealed community leadership to rise to the occasion and support struggle of YAIKS.
All senior leaders of YAIKS were present in the press conference.
