JAMMU, July 8: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) demanded one time re-settlement of the community and also termed PM’s Return, Relief and Rehabilitation package of Kashmiri Pandits as a mere eyewash.
This was stated by RK Bhat, President, YAIKS during a press conference here today.
He said that the Government has failed to ensure safety and rehabilitation of around 2000 employees. Instead of giving proper healing touch to the employees, they are being harassed by the administration by issuing show-cause notices, delay in disbursement of salaries, unnecessarily deducting HRA, he added.

Bhat also demanded re-look into the entire structure of PM’s rehabilitation scheme after a serious dialogue with the concerned representatives of the community. “It is unfortunate that the remaining jobs out of sanctioned 6000 jobs are still pending for its implementation for the past nine years including the appointment of 221 writ petitioners who got justice from the court of law two years back, he added.
“We had lost two generation of our community during exile period of 28 years with the hope that the day will come when we will be rehabilitated in our motherland, but all our hopes are dashed to ground, as the successive governments have failed to create a congenial atmosphere for return. The so-called sense of security for KPs in valley is witnessed when all the employees working there had again been forced to migrate during the recent unrest”, Bhat stated.
YAIKS and Valley Posted Migrant Employees (VPME) asked the Government to start dialogue with them, failing which they will be forced to re-start nation wide direct action programme.
Among others present were BK Bhat and Sunil Koul, Vice Presidents, Manoj Handoo, General Secretary, Sanjay Ganjoo and Ajay Safaya, Secretary.
