World Computer Security Day observed

JAMMU, Nov 30: The “World Computer Security Day” was today celebrated at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) by the Department of Information Technology and Engineering.
On the occasion, a guest lecture was organized on “Network Security”  delivered by Dr. Lalit Sen Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of CS and IT, University of Jammu. He apprised the students about the importance of celebrating the day as Security of IT Systems is of paramount importance for individual and National Security.
He also advised the students not to just have basic knowledge about security measures but obtained professional certifications for a bright career in this ever green field. Lecturer Sonali Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
The afternoon session was a practical workshop on “Cross site scripting vulnerability” by Lecturer Shashank Gupta. The students of various semester of the Department also presented videos on “Security in Cloud Computing”. The whole event was organized under the supervision of Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Manu Gupta.
