Workshop on ‘Finalization of History Glossary in Dogri’ concludes

JAMMU, June 14: 10-day workshop on “Finalization of History Glossary in Dogri” organized by National Translation Mission, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development concluded at Communication County, Gandhi Nagar, here.
Sushil Choudhary was the Convener and Prof Anita Billawaria, Director, Center for History and Ladakh Region, University of Jammu was the coordinator.
The experts of English, History and Dogri were invited to translate typical terminologies of English used in History books into Dogri. In these technical sessions, after rigorous discussion 15,000 words were translated into Dogri. When books in English on History will be translated into Dogri this glossary would provide translators with appropriate technical Dogri words.
The experts who were invited were. Deshbandhu Dogra ‘Nutan’, Prof Prakash Premi, Prof Anita Billawaria, Pritam Katoch, Prof Vijay Sharma, Prof Sudhir Singh, Dr Sonia Jasrotia and Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria, Director, Communication County.
