JAMMU, Nov 29: Working Group meeting on AICRP- Agrometeorology concluded at Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST)- Jammu, here today.
In this three-day mega event, the scientists from 25 AICRP on Agrometeorology presented their research work regarding effect of weather on different crops in different parts of the country.
Dr JP Sharma, Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. He stressed upon the multidisciplinary approach for climate change management. Dr AM Sheikh, former VC, AAU and Dr SD Atri, Scientist F, IMD, New Delhi, were the guests of honour.
Concluding remarks were presented by Dr PV Kumar, Project Coordinator (Agromet). He emphasized on impact of weather in various parts of country and strategies to be worked out to mitigate future climate change impact on different crops in the different agro-climatic regions.
The organizing secretary, Dr Mahender Singh, Senior Scientist and I/C Agrometeorology SKUAST- Jammu presented the vote of thanks.
