DODA, Oct 19: A middle-aged woman was killed, while five others got seriously injured, in a head-on collision between load carrier and a bus at Paryote here today.
As per police sources, a bus bearing registration number JK02AM-1257 was on its way to Jammu from Gandoh, when it collided with a load carrier bearing registration number JK17-4077 coming from opposite direction at Paryote, resulting into injuries to six persons including four traveling in the bus.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital (DH) Doda, where doctors declared a bus passenger as brought dead, while the condition of the five others was stated to be stable, when reports last came in.
The deceased has been identified as Radha Devi (50), wife of Pana Lal of Gadkai, tehsil Gandoh, district Doda.
The injured have been identified as Fazal (50), son of Qasim Din of Kahara Batoli, Mohammad Rafiq (25), son of Dil Mir of Bani Batyas, Sharafat Hussain (20), son of Nazir Ahmed and Zakir Hussain (25), son of Nasir Ahmed, both residents of Amratpura Gandoh and Babu Ram (33), son of Sarab Dayal of Barshalla Thathri.
The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites after completing medical-legal formalities.
A case in this regard has been registered at Doda police station and investigation into the case is going on.
