‘Will not compromise on quality of services by proposed AIIMS’

JAMMU, Feb 1: Terming the proposed establishment of AIIMS as an outcome of the struggle involving protests and agitations by different organisations in Jammu under the banner of AIIMS Coordination Committee, the Committee has asserted that it will not compromise on the quality of services to be offered by the elite medical institution to the people here.
“The people of Jammu have already suffered a lot due to poor performance by the Super Specialty Hospital as there is acute shortage of healthcare facilities forcing our people to run to Punjab, Delhi etc for quality healthcare facilities by spending huge amount, same is not expected from the proposed AIIMS here,” Coordination Committee leader, Abhinav Sharma told reporters here today.
He also said that the dream project of people of Jammu province should be made functional at an earliest.
Addressing a press conference he said that appointment of qualified and experienced persons may be done at the AIIMS without any compromising on the quality and standards required for the institution and if needed, the rules creating hurdles for appointing people from outside the State should be relaxed.
He also thanked the PM Modi and other Union Ministers for sanctioning AIIMS for Jammu.
The Coordination Committee leader also thanked Daljeet Singh Manhas and other members (Young Lawyers Association, Members of BAJ), M.S Katoch and members of JPPF, Ved Prakash (President, Dogra Brahaman Pratinidhi Sabha), Zorawar Singh (President Team Jammu), Neeraj Anand (President CTF), Rajiv Chunni (President SOS International), Agni Shekhar (Panun Kashmir), Tarlochan Singh Wazir (J&K Transport Association), Sardar Gajan Singh (President Transport Welfare Association), Anchal Singh (President Taxi Union), Baldev Khullar, Yashpal Gupta, B.S Slathia (Senior Advocate), Prof Hari Om, K.V Jandial, Dr C.L Gupta, Dr Vikas Sharma, Dr Vivek Arya (SKUAST), Sham Lal Bassan, Madan Abrol, Dheeraj Pargal, Balwan Singh, Sardar Sudershan Singh Wazir, Rakesh Gupta and Members CCI, Sunita Sharma, Kamla Sharma, Rashpal Singh (President POJK Refugee), Labba Ram (President West Pak Refugee), Avinash Bhatia, Inderjeet Khajuria (then President AJHALA), Kuldeep Wahi, Rajiv Mahajan (President Shri Ram Sena), Pritam Sharma (President Kranti Dal) and others for supporting the agitation for getting the AIIMS.
Narayan Singh Jamwal, Vice President J&K BJP; Pavitar Singh, President JPPF and others were also present in the press conference.
