Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 12: There has been widespread condemnation of the statement of National Conference (NC) president and former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah who has stated that PoK is a part of Pakistan.
Reacting to the statement of NC chief, Shiv Sena, (Bala Sahib Thackeray) said it is very unfortunate that Dr Abdullah has stated that PoK belongs to Pakistan forgetting that it is under the forcible occupation of Pakistan.
Sena working president, Ashwani Gupta and its general secretary, Manish Sahni said that Dr Abdullah must remember that not only PoK but entire Pakistan is a part of India. He said India is committed to liberate PoK from clutches of Pakistan and make it a part of this great democracy of the world. The Sena leaders said that Dr Abdullah should stop giving statements on PoK and instead of think about Kashmiri Pandits rehabilitation leading an exiled life for last 28 years.
JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKYSAC) while strongly condemning former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah’s statement said during Kabalies attack on PoK on October 22 and onwards 70,000 people had laid down their lives to save the State from cruel clutches of Pakistan but Dr Farooq Abdullah has insulted the supreme sacrifices made by our elders.
In a press statement, president of JKYSAC, Pt R C Sharma, said at present Dr Abdullah has no authority to dictate the terms, as during ruling days he did not utter a word over the status of PoK and now he is making illogical, irrational and worthless comments.
Sharma asked Dr Abdullah to immediately apologize from the people of India in general and from PoK refugees in particular. He asked the Government of India to make strategy to get back the PoK from the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
Shiv Sena and Dogra Front led by its president Ashok Gupta held a protest demonstration in Gangyal area of the city against the statement of Dr Abdullah that PoK belongs to Pakistan and no war can change it.
Condemning his statement Gupta said that some political leaders talk irrational sometimes especially when they are out of power as this line suits their vote bank. He said the statement is not based on reality and has the most hallucinating mind process to it as the total number of seats in J&K Assembly are 111 out of which, 87 belong to J&K which is integral part of India and 24 to PoK which too is part of India under forcible occupation of Pak. He made it clear that Maharaja Hari Singh had made accession for entire J&K State which was under the Dogra rule.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has also strongly condemned the statement of Dr Abdullah. In a statement issued by KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri today said this way Dr Abdullah was exploiting the Kashmiri people over the illogical demand of greater autonomy, ignoring the fact about the unanimous resolution of Indian Parliament that the J&K is an integral part of India and it needs to liberate PoK from the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
Kundan Kashmiri alleged that Dr Abdullah is playing dirty politics of divisiveness, provoking Kashmiris for his vested interests and dynasty rule. He said it has become his habit to create controversies and confusion by his misleading statements.
Public Opinion Forum, (POF), president, Parveen Sharma has strongly condemned the statement of Dr Abdullah and termed it is not based on facts. Sharma said PoJK is part of J&K which has been forcibly occupied by Pakistan. He said India is committed to get back this part of J&K as per unanimous Parliament resolution of 1994.
