Welfare of martyrs’ families top priority: ADG CRPF

JAMMU, June 2: While honoring martyrs’ families of the Force during golden jubilee celebrations of 38 Battalion CRPF here at Smailpur, Samba, VSK Kaumudi, Additional DG CRPF J&K Zone remembered the bravery and courage of Force personnel and appealed the personnel to keep serving the nation with utmost discipline and sincerity. On the occasion, he reiterated his commitment towards the welfare and care of martyrs’ families. Pertinently, 38 Bn CRPF came into existence exactly 50 years ago in Narsinghgarh, Tripura.
In the glorious past of 50 years, the Unit rendered its services in different parts of the country including Tripura, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Sikkim, Mizoram, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha where it not only performed its duties effectively, besides, set various examples of its bravery.
The celebrations became more stupendous when first Commandant of the Battalion, CM Sharma informed people about the history of the Unit. Mr Sharma is a 1962 batch UP Cadre IPS officer who retired from service in 1996 as Director General.
In the function, the artists from BB International School, Vijaypur, Samba and Friends Musical Group Satwari, Jammu showcased their presentations.
The personnel of CRPF also added colour to the function with their cultural programs.
The environment turned patriotic when martyrs were remembered during the programme.
CRPF expressed its gratitude towards the families of martyrs.
SK Madan, Second-in-Command (Retired) shared his memories of courage and bravery with the people on the occasion. Mr Madan is first such officer of 38 Bn who was awarded Police Medal for Gallantry for his courage and bravery while fighting with insurgents in Nagaland on Tripura-Mizoram boundary. While addressing the people, Kaumudi reiterated his commitment and endeavors for improving the infrastructure for jawans and providing basic amenities to all. Among others present during the function were Vijay Kumar IG CRPF J&K Zone, AV Chauhan IG CRPF Jammu Sector, Nitu DIG CRPF Jammu Range, P C Jha DIG CRPF (Ops) Jammu North, MP Bahuguna DIG CRPF Jammu Sector, Joginder Singh, DIG, CRPF, Jammu Sector, S P Singh DIG CRPF Group Centre Bantalab and other officers as well as personnel of CRPF.
The programme was organized by CRPF 38 Bn CRPF under the guidance of Ram Kumar, Commandant.
