Wani asks Govt to formulate policy for regularization of employees

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: JCC leader and EJAC president, Abdul Qayoom Wani today asked the Government to formulate a solid policy for regularization of the temporary employees and also warned that any attempt of adopting oppressive measures against these employees, who are sitting on hunger strike, shall have serious repercussions.
Mr Wani was addressing in a one- day session of executive body of EJAC, convened here today under his chairmanships.
The session lambasted the Government for its alleged delaying tactics with regard to the regularization of all the 60,000 Temporary, Causal and Daily Wagers of all the three Regions of the State. The session observed that non serious attitude of the Government has forced temporary employees to go for hunger strike and their health condition was getting deteriorated day by day.
The session appealed the State Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary to resolve this serious and human issue by formulating a solid policy for the regularization.
The session also expressed deep concern on the continuous hunger strike of NYC Volunteers and termed it as an eye opener for the Government, which should resolve the issue at the earliest.
At the end of the session, a delegation of EJAC, led by Qayoom Wani, visited Partap Park and expressed solidarity with the employees sitting on hunger strike there.
