JAMMU, Apr 11: A 25-year-old youth, a vegetable seller by profession, died today due to electrocution here at Rehari.
“Balbir Singh, son of Isher Dass, resident of Udhampur (presently residing at Rehari Chungi), received severe electric shock this afternoon when while going to his rented accommodation, he inadvertently touched an electric pole, through which current was passing due to some short circuit”, a police official said.
He said that in unconscious condition the man was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead. “After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, he added.
