USTA to protest over delay in salary, adjustment of promotees

KATHUA, Aug 28:  Up in arms against unprecedented delay in release of salary of   teachers working under SSA and RMSA, J&K United School Teachers Association has announced to hold protest demonstrations against the School Education Department.
In this connection, a big protest demonstration will be held at Shahid Bhagat Singh Park, Kathua on September 1 at 12 noon.
This was informed by the USTA provincial president Hari Singh while talking to media persons, here today.
He lamented that salary of thousands of Teachers and Masters working under SSA and RMSA were without salary for the last several months while the Government was doing nothing for the payment.
Mr Singh also accused the Education authorities of being biased and highly discriminatory while affecting transfers and adjustment of Masters and Lecturers. Transfers are being done on pick and choose method and those Masters and Lecturers, who have completed their tenure in far flung areas like Bani, Malhar, Doda, Kishtwar, Ladakh etc, are being ignored and not repatriated to their home districts, he alleged.
The USTA leader also criticized the Education authorities for not making adjustment of Masters and lecturers, whose DPC was made more than six months ago.
Those who were present in the press conference, included Hans Raj Shastri, Kishori Lal, Sukh Dev Singh, Mohan Singh, Noor Alam, Rattan Singh, Khalil  Ahmed and Sham Lal.
