USTA holds protest demonstration

KATHUA, Mar 7: A protest demonstration was held by J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) in front of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park here, today in support of their demands.
The protest was led by Roop Chand , Shankaara Singh and Zulfkar Ali, district president, senior vice president and secretary of Association respectively.
The protesters demanded revocation of unjustified order to close schools on the day of Board examinations, release of salaries of teachers working under SSA/RMSA regularly, release of salary of ReT teachers for last 15 months who were regularized during 2013, 2014 and 2015 onwards, transfer of masters suitably who have completed their tenure in Winter Zone schools, framing of transfer policy for regularized ReT teachers, release of senior teachers grade in favour of trained under graduate teachers and release of four months salary of surplus masters.
The protesters also demanded regularization of incharge lecturers and masters at an earliest and debar teachers from sending daily SMA regarding mid day meals.
Later the Association took out a march to DC office Kathua and shouted slogans in support of their demands. Others who addressed the protestors included provincial president Hari Singh, general secretary, Rajeev Kumar, Ashok Kumar etc.
