Unelectrified schools

Sir,
Refer article ‘Unelectrified Government schools in J&K State’ DE Nov 17, 2018.
It is really a matter of great concern that most of the Government run schools have no power connections. In this backdrop, one can really imagine the quality of teaching provided in the schools. At a time when technology is shaping the future of classrooms, the unelectrified schools still run on old pattern where there is stress on blackboard, and chalk method. One wonders how can the students enrolled in these schools compete with modern private schools. It is one of the reasons why parents, even if they are poor, prefer private schools to provide education to their children. Though it may not be safe to say here that all private schools are well-equipped to provide quality education to the children. There are certainly some private schools which are run as money minting centres. They have been opened to fleece parents and harass students. It is important that the Education Department takes congnizance of the matter and tries its best that all schools in the State have a power connection to enable them carry their tasks on modern lines.
