Udhampur shootout: Two held with weapon of offence

UDHAMPUR, July 28: Police worked out a shootout incident, which had taken place on July 24 near SBI Bank Udhampur with the arrest of two persons.
Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur Mohammad Suleman Choudhary said that two persons namely Sushant Sharma, son of Hans Raj Sharma of Ward number 1, Subash Nagar, Udhampur and Kapil Paba, son of Om Parkash Paba of Chabutra Bazar, at present Adarash Colony Udhampur on July 24, shot at Rocky Gupta, son of Manhor Lal Gupta of Lambi Gali, Udhampur near SBI Bank Udhampur.
After committing the offence, the accused managed to escape from the spot, he said, adding that profusely bleeding victim was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
A case under FIR number 280/14 under Section 307/34 RPC and Arms Act was registered at Udhampur police station and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to nab the accused, SSP said.
After conducting series of raids, the team finally arrested the accused from a hideout along with weapon used in the commission of crime, he added.
The accused fired at Rocky over some property dispute, he said, adding that further investigation of the case is going on.
Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of SHO Udhampur Police Station Inspector Mahesh Sharma, DySP Headquarters Udhampur Gourav Mahajan and Additional SP Udhampur Khalil Ahmed Poswal made the arrest under the direct supervision of SSP Udhampur Mohammad Suleman Choudhary.
