Two injured as car plunges into Chenab

BHADERWAH, July 14: Two persons got injured today when the car they were travelling in met with an accident at ‘Pul Doda’.
According to police, an A-Star car bearing registration number JK06-6146, which was on its way from Khaleeni to Doda, on reaching Pul Doda near Jamia Masjid, on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway, skidded off the road and after rolling down 150 meters, it fell on the Bank of River Chenab. He said the mishap occurred due to negligence of the driver, who lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve.
“Two passengers travelling in the car got injured in the mishap. After getting information about the incident, police immediately rushed to the spot and along with locals rescued both the persons from the damaged vehicle. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Doda,” said Zohaib Hassan, Deputy SP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar.
The injured have been identified as Fareed Ahmed (27), son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Akaramabad (Doda) and Surjeet Kumar (28), son of Bodh Raj, resident of Dessa.
Police has registered a case in this regard at police station Doda and further investigations were on.
