Two held with 3.5 kg charas

JAMMU, Jan 20: Nowabad police arrested two narcotic smugglers with 3.5 kilograms of charas from Jewel here today.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Nowabad police station headed by SHO Jai Pal Sharma laid a naka near Jewel and intercepted two persons.
During checking, 3.5 kilograms of charas was recovered and both the narcotic smugglers were arrested.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Ghani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Qazigund and Rakesh Giri, son of Kishore Giri of Uttar Pradesh, presently residing at Jib Thathi, district Udhampur.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nowabad police station and investigation started.
