TUFS organizes 25th annual free medical & social welfare camp

JAMMU, Dec 19: The Universal Friendship Society (TUFS) organized 25th annual free medical and social welfare camp for two days at Kotli Arjun Singh, tehsil RS Pura.
On the occasion, Dr Pratibha Gupta, Dr Dav Wakhlu and Dr Kirpal Singh examined the patients and provided free consultation and medicines.
During the camp, the patients were found suffering from worm infestation, anemia, arthritis, diabetes mellitus type 2, high blood pressure, ischemic heart diseases and many gynae problems.
Dr Kirpal Singh explained patients how to prevent high blood pressure, diabetes and heart diseases. He detailed the importance of active life style and proper diet to relevant the chronic aliments.
Dr Pratibha Gupta talked to patients especially ladies on prevention of anemia and common fem-ales diseases in the child bearing ladies.
Surjeet Kaur, senior vice president of the society spoke on social and health issues being faced by the public in general and brick kilns polled areas and very poor conditions of the roads in the area.
Advocate Bhagat Singh Zandiq, joint secretary of the society encouraged people to get health benefits from the society. He also talked about the poor health, transport and road works in the border areas of the RS Pura tehsil.
Among others present were dental specialist nurse Abhijeet Kour, Jagjit Singh, Hockey Coach and Harjeet Pal Singh.
