SUNDERBANI, May 6: A tempo driver was severely beaten up by an illegal travel agency agents in Sunderbani area today.
A police spokesman said that over a minor issue some agents including Arun Kumar, Dalep Kumar and Keshav Kumar allegedly beaten up driver Pritam Sharma, son of Shambhu Nath, resident of Peli village in Sunderbani with iron rod and lathis today causing him severe injuries.
With the intervention of MLA later, a case FIR No. 49, 2018 U/S 307/ 341/ 509/ 34 RPC was registered against the accused persons. While one of them was arrested, two others were absconding, the police said. The victim after treatment at SDH Sunderbani, was referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
