Traffic Police launches special drive

JAMMU, Mar 2: In order to keep a check on violation of traffic rules, a team of Traffic Police Rural Jammu has launched special drive against the violators.
During the drive, a large number of private and commercial vehicles including buses, matadors, bikes and other vehicles were challaned and seized.
The team challaned 4520 vehicles, of which, 471 violators were booked for overloading, 1466 for not wearing crash helmets, 776 for not fastening seat belts besides 333 were booked for not having the driving licenses. The team has also seized 136 vehicles during the month of February, 2018.
SP Traffic Rural, Jammu, Shaheen Wahid has enjoined upon the general public to strictly follow traffic rules and be a part of smooth traffic regulation for their own safety. She further stated that violators will be dealt strictly in case of non-adherence to the traffic rules.
