SAMBA, Feb 18: Security forces shot at a tipper driver on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway, here last night.
As per police sources, security forces late last night found two tipper drivers chasing each other on the Jammu-Pathankote National Highway near Samba and they were asked to stop.
The tipper drivers despite calls did not respond following which the security personnel, fired two rounds in which one of driver sustained injuries in the abdomen.
Injured person identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Karnail Chand of Kootah, District Samba was rushed to the District Hospital Samba from where he was later referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
When contacted, SSP Samba Dr Koshal Sharma confirmed the incident and informed that a case under relevant sections has been registered at Samba Police Station and investigation started.
