KISHTWAR, Aug 19: Thousands of devotees pay obeisance to the holy Chhari of Machail Mata on its arrival here today.
The devotees were waiting in long queues for hours together to have the darshan of Chhari Mubarak of the Mata. As the Yatra reached the town the religious slogans rent the air. The devotees showered flowers to the Chhari Mubarak and paid their respects to it.
Later the yatra left for Atholi where it will have a night halt and leave for Massu early morning tomorrow on foot. The 32 kilometer journey from Atholi to Machail is on foot. While the yatra came in a cavalcade of vehicles from Bhadarwah to Atholi.
The Chhari Mubarak will leave from Massu to Chashoti on August 21 and after a night halt there it will leave for Machail on August 22 morning. The yatra will reach Machial in the evening and on August 23 a hawan and Jagrata will be performed at holy shrine of Machail in which thousands of devotees will take part.
The yatra will return towards Kishtwar on August 24. It may be recalled that the authorities have made elaborate arrangements for yatris enroute and at holy Shrine of Machail Mata.
So far one lakh pilgrims have returned after performing darshan of Machail Mata. The yatra attracts large number of pilgrims after holy shrines of Mata Vaishno Devi and Swami Amarnath Ji in the State. Besides, the J&K State, the devotees from other parts of the country also visit the holy shrine every year for darshan.
