Tepid demand drags down refined soya oil futures 0.20 pc

NEW DELHI, Apr 9: Refined soya oil prices softened by 0.20 per cent to Rs 779.50 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators reduced exposure amid easing demand at spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in April declined by Rs 1.60, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 779.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 42,720 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in May weakened by 60 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 785.65 per 10 kg in 40,650 lots.
Analysts said, cutting down of positions by participants, driven by subdued demand in the physical market against ample stocks position on increased arrivals from producing belts, mainly influenced refined soya oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
