Srinagar, Aug 29: The students in one of the remote villages of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district were doing menial job as their teachers were watching and directing them.
The students at Government Middle School in Wapora in Qaimoh zone of the district were seen cleaning mats as their teachers were passing directions in full public glare. Nearly 30 students of the school were performing the duty of peons on their teachers’ directions.
Ironically, none of the teachers objected to the practice and instead passed directions to the hapless students who come to school for seeking knowledge.
When contacted, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kulgam assured to look into the matter. He said the schools are meant for giving education to children. “I will contact the concern Zonal Education Officer just now,” he said.
