‘Talk-cum Demonstration on Printmaking’ organized

JAMMU, Feb 21: The School of Visual and Performing Arts, Design & Architecture (SVAPADA) in collaboration with Institute of Music & fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu, University of Jammu, hosted a two-day `Lecture- cum- Demonstration programme’ at IMFA.
The invited guests for this programme were print makers Hyunju Kim from South Korea and Damon Kowarsky from Australia. The students and faculty of Visual arts including Sculpture participated in the event. The series of interactive programmes had been started under the initiative of Prof Poonam Choudhary, Director, The School of Visual and Performing Arts, Design & Architecture (SVAPADA) & Principal, IMFA.
According to  Poonam Choudhary, ‘the objective of arranging this programme was  to incorporate and sharing the information and skill among artist communities of all art forms being undertaken at IMFA and the artists, working in other parts of the country and abroad.
In the programme, well known musicians, performers and visual artists were invited to display their work and perform for the students and faculty of the institution, sharing their views and hitting to explore more in their respective disciplines of art forms.
On the first day, two print makers Hyunju Kim (S. Korea) and. Damon Kowarsky (Australia) gave power point presentations on their respective creative works, interacted and shared views on techniques, making creative drawings and  design, prints and discussed various modes of expression in visual arts.
On the second day, practical work was undertaken. The students made sketches, creative drawings and could mould them into desired compositions. Collaborative art works were also created by the participants. A number of art sketches and raw material for creative visuals was prepared during this event of two days. The programme concluded successfully today.
The programme was coordinated by Amarjeet Singh, Lecturer Applied Art, IMFA.
