JAMMU, Mar 2: On the occasion of Centenary of Yogoda Satsanga Society (YSS) of India, a public talk on “Meditation-Antidote for Stress, Anxiety and Fear” was delivered by Swami Smaranananda Giri ji, general secretary of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, in the auditorium of Government Polytechnic College, Jammu.
The talk was organized by Yogoda Dhyana Kendra, Jammu a regional kendra of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India founded by Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda in 1917. At the very outset, Swami ji informed that YSS is a spiritual and charitable organization, open to people of all races, religions, cultures and creeds, making available the teachings of Paramahansa ji to all sincere seekers.
Swami Smaranananda Giri ji during the deliberation informed that stress, anxiety and fear are the major offshoots of prevalent imbalanced lifestyle and ideals of YSS hold potential of liberation of mankind from his threefold suffering – physical disease, mental inharmonies and spiritual ignorance – through scientific Yoga techniques such as the Energization Exercises created by Paramahansa ji, and concentration and meditation techniques, leading to direct personal experience of God.
He said that the highest of these techniques is Kriya Yoga, through which consciousness is drawn to higher levels of awareness, bringing about a gradual inner awakening. He informed that it is not necessary for one to attend classes or have instructors; the sincere seeker can learn and practice these techniques at home, at one’s own time, through the Yogoda Satsanga lessons, compiled under the guidance of Paramahansa Yogananda ji.
Sanjay Anand, general secretary, YSDK Jammu, gave a brief introduction and aim of YSS whereas vote of thanks was presented Narinder Sharma, vice chairman, YSDK. More than 300 spiritual seekers enthusiastically attended the talk by Swami ji.
